New Students and Butterfly Days

We have several new students, Hannah (2) with her baby brother, Dylan, 
and Breana just to the left, who is experiencing the transformation of the 
caterpillar into a butterfly.

                                         There has been a lot of activity since the last post: Julian turned 5, Dominic turned 4 and Tristan turned a spunky 2. also Thalia's grandmother came from Haiti, so she's taking a break. Then Hannah (2 1/2) and her brother, Dylan (6 mos), joined the daycare. Last week, Breana came to join us. She just had a birthday, April 20th, when she turned five.                                                                                                                                                     

The other day, our new batch of caterpillars emerged from their chrysalis. Miss Rachel took some swell pictures. Take a look-see!!!  Here's Dominic, who has been with us a few years.

New Baby Thallia

She is very smart and, for a 13 month old baby, very alert and organized. Her name is Thallia. She started walking right about the time of her first birthday in December. She's a happy baby and rarely cries, except when she's a little tired. she loves to walk around the yard, and loves to throw food to the dog.

Our New Friend James

James just started and is enjoying himself a lot. One amazing thing about him is that he doesn't cry!!!! He was pretty focused on eating his New York Pretzel, when I took this picture.

Dancing at the Daycare

Camila, Paige, Dominic and Julian had a fun time dancing while it was raining outside.

 

Paige's Third Birthday

Today, October 10, 2011 is Paige's 3rd birthday. She is a loving child, very caring towards the other children and babies, and she is a whiz with puzzles.

Kids Love the Monkey Dome!!!

This is a nice challenge for the kids and is remarkably safe.It holds up to 600 pounds!!!

Watching Butterflies Morph

At the day care, the children have been learning about the caterpillar metamorphosis from a caterpillar to a chrysalis and, finally into a butterfly. So, today, after weeks of waiting,the children were able to tenderly hold the butterfly, which is still too weak to fly. The tall, white cylinder you see houses the butterflies.
The children are gathering around to hold the butterflies, because they are about to fly.

Wow! I am one lucky girl!

Looks like Dominic has a new buddy.
