She is very smart and, for a 13 month old baby, very alert and organized. Her name is Thallia. She started walking right about the time of her first birthday in December. She's a happy baby and rarely cries, except when she's a little tired. she loves to walk around the yard, and loves to throw food to the dog.

Today, October 10, 2011 is Paige's 3rd birthday. She is a loving child, very caring towards the other children and babies, and she is a whiz with puzzles.

Watching Butterflies Morph

At the day care, the children have been learning about the caterpillar metamorphosis from a caterpillar to a chrysalis and, finally into a butterfly. So, today, after weeks of waiting,the children were able to tenderly hold the butterfly, which is still too weak to fly. The tall, white cylinder you see houses the butterflies.
The children are gathering around to hold the butterflies, because they are about to fly.

Water Play At The DayCare

Here we are. It's finally summer, after a very cold winter. Brrrr.And everyone is loving it; sprinklers, water slides, baby pools, and, finally, today, our BIG pool. It's summer !!!!

Nature Study At the Daycare

All the children are excited about the warm weather, the rain and whatever is happening in the grass. Our little folks are learning about what grows in the back yard and are also having an awesome time on the water slide.One of our youngest, Tristan is becoming a lot more mobile, end even goes on bike rides with the "big" kids.

Dominic thinks it's really awesome to be a scientist with his little magnifying lens.

It has been a freezing winter down here in Florida, and a lot of our children are out with colds. But, here is Kenadie, Jasmine and Julian enjoying one fairly warm day. We pray for all those who have been caught in the blizzard up North.

We took some cute pictures today of the group, including two sibling sisters who will be starting in January, 2011. On the left is Tristan, just nine months old. He is a very happy baby and loves to eat.
Just below here, we have our little superstar, Sophia, who is an animated and spunky girl.

Here is Dominic, below, just 2 and a half, who wants to be a football plaayer, when he grows up. He's already very handsome.

Here are two sisters, Shanique, 2, above, and her little 2 month old sister, Angelique. I couldn't seem to get Shanique to smile, since she was so surprised to be looking at herself in the video of the computer.

Jasmine's 6th Birthday

She says she "turns by 6", so, she's really excited about this and she's getting a Barbie Cadillac that she can drive in with her friends. At the party, I was surprised to see that the children were driving it in the backyard without any problem. When they did bump into a tree, they just stopped. There were no accidents, as I thought

there might be. They were cruising at about one mile an hour!!!

She also had a big bouncer and the theme was "tinkerbell" and all the kids had a blast.

Boy's Day at The Civic Center

Miss Rachel took Dominic and Julian for a morning of delightful activities before Thanksgiving. Of course, there were plenty of activities about the Pilgrims and the Indians. And here they are!!! They are getting to be good friends, and, as typical bous, they like to chase each other around a lot.

Sophia's Birthday October 29: First Birthday!!!

We were so lucky to find little Sophia. She is such a
cutie-pie, always smiling. Personally I think she will
become something of an international celebrity, since
she has family from Columbia and Argentina, and she has one of the most engaging personalities we've seen.She even likes to watch Starfall on the computer and dances along with the music.

Derek's Birthday (August)

Derek is one happy kid. Always smiling. Cheerful kid. Happy-go-lucky. He was even happier when we had his birthday party here and I heard that his Grandpa gave him a new tricycle. He even likes to swim now, of course, with a vest. He's also one happy eater, and, whenever there is talk of cooking, he will pull himself right up to the table. He's officially two years old.

What a fun month for us!!!! Abigayle and Kenadie both turned 3...And they are turning into great friends. Abigayle is her usual spiffy, flashy, yet gentle self; quick to laugh and make a joke. Kenadie is turning out to be quite a runner and has even decided to try out swimming. Miss Rachel, of course, had a quiet birthday this year. She's not telling what year she was born.

Princess Tea Parties

Occasionally, Miss Rachel will take a couple of the young "princesses" over to the Port St. Lucie Civic Center, where they have a Princess Tea Party. Of course, with parents' permission. Sometimes our little Princes will tag along too. Here is our dear little Abigayle with a pretty painted face, returning after a frolicking time.

Summertime & Swimming

Everyone is all hyped up about swimming. We had such a cool winter and Spring. We want to make sure that we have all our safety equipment and hygiene set to go, so that we all have a fun time. After a while, no one seemed to want to use the small pool. We didn't want to rush any one, so everyone just took their time, if they were a little phobic.

Happy Easter and Happy Passover to all. The children are excited to make the cute bunnies and chickies. They're also finding more about our little chrysallis now forming from the caterpillars. Soon they'll be butterflies.
One African dwarf frog is still with us, although one went to the Big Frog Heaven Beyond.

Today was a big cooking adventure for the children and they decorated chocolate chip cookies with creamy strawberry frosting and sprinkles.

Ms. Rachel decided to brighten up the playhouse. so, she and Johan were very busy for a few weekends. The kids love it. What do you think? We think it's a lot safer and brighter.

This is a new blog since our server went down for the old one. We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We will be open during the holidays, and, of course, doing a lot of artistic activities that have to with the Yuletide, especially cooking.

The next few weeks are full of excitement for Christmas. Our daily activity will include Christmas songs, cooking Christmas cookies, and making Chirstmas snowmen sculptures. Reading, of course, is one of our favorite activities.
